Privacy Policy
Your privacy matters. TAX Resident is designed to keep your data on your device and in your personal iCloud account. We do not collect, transmit, or sell your personal information.
TAX Resident is developed and published by Anton Shifman. This privacy policy explains how the TAX Resident mobile application ("the App") handles your information.
TAX Resident operates entirely on your device. The App does not send any personal information to our servers or any third-party servers. We have no servers that receive your data.
The following information is created and stored locally on your device (and optionally synced to your personal iCloud account):
The App may request access to your device's location services to automatically detect which country you are in. This is entirely optional — you can choose manual check-in instead.
If you enable location services, the App uses your device's GPS to determine your current country once or twice per day. This location data is processed on your device only and is never transmitted to any external server. The only data stored is the country name and date — not your precise GPS coordinates.
You can revoke location access at any time through your device's Settings.
The App may request access to your camera or photo library so you can photograph or attach images of passports, visas, and residence permits. These images are stored locally on your device and in your iCloud account if iCloud sync is enabled. They are never uploaded to our servers or shared with third parties.
If you have iCloud enabled on your device, the App uses Apple's CloudKit framework to back up and sync your data across your Apple devices. This data is stored in your personal iCloud account, managed by Apple under their privacy policy. We do not have access to your iCloud data.
TAX Resident does not use any third-party analytics, advertising, crash reporting, or tracking services. Specifically:
The App offers an optional premium upgrade through Apple's In-App Purchase system. All payment processing is handled entirely by Apple. We do not receive, process, or store any payment information such as credit card numbers or billing addresses.
TAX Resident is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Since the App does not collect any data from any user, this concern does not apply in practice.
Since all data is stored on your device and in your personal iCloud account, you have full control over your data at all times. You can delete all App data by:
We retain no data on any server, so there is nothing for us to delete on our end.
Your data is protected by the security features built into your Apple device, including hardware encryption and biometric authentication. iCloud data is encrypted in transit and at rest by Apple. The App does not implement its own network communication, so there is no risk of data interception during transmission to our servers — because no such transmission occurs.
Because we do not collect or store your personal data on any server, traditional data rights requests (access, correction, deletion, portability) are handled directly by you on your device. You are in complete control of your information at all times.
If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), United Kingdom, California, or any other jurisdiction with data protection laws, please note that our data practices — specifically, the absence of data collection — are designed to comply with the strictest privacy standards by default.
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with a revised effective date. If we ever introduce data collection practices, we will notify users through an in-app notice and request consent as required by applicable law.
